Terms of Service

These are the terms your church agrees to when it uses Shepherd. They are written to be read — if anything here is unclear, ask us and we will explain it in plain English before you sign anything.

1. What Shepherd is

Shepherd provides your church with a public website (service times, sermons, events, ministries, giving links, prayer and connect forms) and an admin dashboard your own team uses to keep it current. Setup is white-glove: we configure your site with you and hand it over working, not as a blank page.

2. Fees

Shepherd costs a one-time $1,200 setup fee and $59 per month after that. The setup fee covers white-glove onboarding — our team building and configuring your site from your content. The monthly fee covers hosting, backups, uptime monitoring, unlimited content edits from your dashboard, and email support. There are no per-visitor, per-submission, or per-editor charges, and we will not raise your monthly price without telling you at least 30 days ahead.

3. Term and cancellation

The monthly service runs month to month. You can cancel at any time — no minimum term, no cancellation fee, no retention call. Your site stays up through the end of the period you have already paid for. The setup fee is for work already performed and is not refunded on cancellation.

4. Your data is yours — including on the way out

Everything your church puts into Shepherd — sermons, events, ministries, page content, staff listings, and submitted form data — belongs to your church, not to us. If you cancel, we will export all of it on request in a plain, portable format you can hand to whoever builds what comes next, and then delete it from our systems. Nothing about your church is locked in.

5. We never touch your money

Shepherd does no payment processing. Your Give page links out to the giving provider your church already uses (Tithe.ly, Pushpay, or similar); donations go directly from your members to your provider. We never see, hold, or transmit donor payment details or funds, and we take no percentage of anything given to your church.

6. Pastoral information

Connect cards and prayer requests often carry sensitive pastoral information. How we protect it is spelled out in our privacy policy, which is part of these terms. The short version: it is visible only to your staff, it is never sold or used for advertising, and pastoral details are kept out of our logs and error-tracking tools.

7. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the content your team publishes (it should be yours to publish, and lawful), for keeping your staff logins private, and for telling us promptly if an account should be removed. We may suspend a site that is being used to publish unlawful content or to attack the service — we will always contact you first unless the situation makes that impossible.

8. Service and support

We aim to keep your site available around the clock and take backups so content can be restored if something goes wrong. Support is by email at support@mail.actscapital.org — we respond within one business day, and faster when your site is down. Shepherd is provided as-is; to the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email your admin contact at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Shepherd after that date is acceptance; cancelling before it (any time, remember) is always available.
